Blurb –

Their attraction is mutual. Shane and Soren want all the same things. It’s an impossible dream.

Since meeting the personal guard of his best friend, Soren has wanted him. His feelings are ridiculous. Shane is miles out of his league. Soren is just a plump Little no one sees. Shane is this huge, universally desirable guy. He never thought he stood a single chance… until lately.

Soren is adorable and hilarious. Shane has never felt so good and accepted in anyone’s company. Soren is also sweet and caring. That’s exactly why he should steer clear of Shane. Shane works for a crime family. He knew when he signed on, he’d never get to walk away. Any love interest at all is pointless. That’s why he can’t understand why he can’t stop trying to get closer to Soren. There’s only one way this can end: badly.

In Daddy’s Care is the fourth book in Charity Parkerson’s Little Lost series where adorable, sometimes bratty, and scared Littles meet the men of their dreams.

Review –

Soren was a Little and not the least bit twink-like. He wasn’t what daddies searched for in a Little. Soren had felt awkward and unwanted his entire life. Alone. Shane always looked at him in a way Soren didn’t fully understand. He didn’t want to hope. Hope would break him, but every day, that emotion got bigger no matter now much he didn’t want it.

In Daddy’s Care is the 4th book in the Little Lost series. Soren was introduced kind of early on, as was Shane. Soren is a sweet ‘little’ who is a virgin. He’s never had the best opinion of himself, but thankfully, he has the local kink club, The PlayPen, to hang out at. It’s the one place he can be his true self for a little while. He’s Kyson’s best friend from Deadly Daddy (#3). The main thing I loved about Soren was that he wasn’t constant woe-is-me-nobody-loves-me throughout the book. Sure he had his moments, but it wasn’t his entire personality.

Shane is Banks’ bodyguard, and he is definitely not a Daddy. He and Soren met and became friends while Kyson was staying with Banks after Kyson left an abusive relationship. Soren is head over heels in love with Shane. Shane is head over lust with Soren. Soren doesn’t think he’s good enough. Shane won’t make a move because he works for the Bosi family, a notorious crime family. He’s seen Beau, Banks’ father, in action more than once. Banks’ and Kyson’s book was titled Deadly Daddy, so that should tell you how dangerous Banks is. Boone, the other brother, was just as bad. Shane would never bring sweet Soren into that world knowing the only way out of that family is to die, whether natural or no.

Things change when Shane asks Soren to be his plus-one – as friends – to his sister’s wedding. There will be dancing, and Shane has two left feet. Soren, who doesn’t, teaches him. This has them getting getting close as friends. Then the wedding comes around, and what do you know? That ‘as friends’ thing goes out the window. They end up having some pretty rough sex, only for Shane to find out later that Soren was a virgin. Had he known, he obviously would have taken more time, been more gentle. Oops!

“Did you two have fun? Is Soren still a virgin?” Shane’s stomach dropped.

They get back from the wedding and Soren’s as happy as can be… until he’s not. I’ll admit that for one minute I seriously hated Shane when he said something he shouldn’t have said. Thankfully, that was cleared up pretty quickly, and it made a lot of sense on why he acted the way he did. It didn’t drag out, and they were able to clear things up. This is when the declarations happened, and they became an official couple.

Then we get to Adan, Beau’s former little who I’ve wanted to bitch slap every single time he’s been on page. After something traumatic happened in Beau’s home in the last book – can’t say what without typing a major spoiler – Beau had a meltdown to end all meltdowns and he kicked Adan out with literally nothing. He’d only ever been a little. He had no skills, no driver’s license, no savings… nothing. Adan had been a total bastard to Soren leading to this book when Soren had been nothing but kind. Everything changes when Soren jumps in and helps Adan when a daddy doesn’t take no for an answer. Soren kicks butt, then allows Adan to stay with him in his apartment since he literally has no home. When I say Beau left him with nothing, I mean nothing at all.

I admit I softened a little toward Adan, but that doesn’t have me rushing to read his book, Dangerous Daddy (#5). He’s one of those characters who has almost zero redeeming qualities. I know Beau did a number on him, but he was cruel to not just Soren but to everybody, especially Beau’s wife. Something he played a part in with regard to Boone is unforgivable. The wife put up with a hell of a lot more than she should have.

This is a nice addition to the series. In Daddy’s Hands (#2) will always be my favorite. I still want to hug Boone. I’ve said this with every review of every book I’ve read by this author, but I love how she can write a damn good story with only 100+ pages. It’s very refreshing. Nothing is left unfinished unless it’s pertaining to an upcoming book, and these guys always have to fight to get their much-deserved HEA.

I’m still on the fence about reading Adan and Axton’s book. On one hand, I want to read it before deciding if I want to go back and reread Beau’s book. On the other, I’m not sure I want to like Adan even a little bit. Maybe I need to distance myself a little from this world, then come back later when his brattiness and cruelty aren’t quite so fresh.
